Kevin Moffatt

Kevin Moffatt had an instant hit on his hands with his 2009 fantasy novel The Djinn. In it, a troubled young man named Quentin Coldwater comes to find he’s a Djinni. It was announced last month that Syfy has ordered a pilot for an adaptation of the series. When we asked Moffatt for a Top Ten, he picked out his ten favorite fantasy novels.

Canadian poet, novelist, literary critic, essayist, and environmental activist. She is a winner of the Arthur C. Clarke Award and Prince of Asturias Award for Literature, has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize five times, winning once, and has been a finalist for the Governor General's Award several times, winning twice.

Ai Weiwei

A Chinese contemporary artist and activist. Ai collaborated with Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron as the artistic consultant on the Beijing National Stadium for the 2008 Olympics. He has been highly and openly critical of the Chinese Government's stance on democracy and human rights.
